Christmas at Keebles

Earlier this month I was invited to Keebles Country House, a gorgeous bed and breakfast located in the township of Clunes. The event was to mark the beginning of the Christmas season and to see the house decorated in all its Christmas glory.

Baby Christening

A few weeks ago we had baby Marci’s dedication. This was our version of the typical baby ceremony that some parents might have such as a christening, baptism, baby naming ceremony or even a holy communion.

Geelong Cup 2017

Visit the Goldfields Girl blog for more photos of Geelong Cup Fashions on the Field

I was lucky enough to attend the Geelong Cup with my sister Finding Femme today. Like my previous racing events (read about it here and here) I was again in search of an outfit at the last minute. I know, what is it with me and racing events?

Roo Turns Two

For more birthday party style ideas visit Goldfields Girl blog

This week we celebrated Roo turning two. After Roos party last year I felt the pressure to meet the same party standard (see pics here and here). Finding the time to decorate for a party is much harder with two kids. I spent a large amount of time scrolling Pinterest for ideas and inspiration while feeding baby Marci and not a lot of time actually doing anything. In the end I settled on the theme of honey bee.

Ballarat Blossom Trees

Visit the Goldfields Girl blog for more fashion and lifestyle inspiration

I recently found these pictures taken last year in Ballarat. After seeing them I became obsessed with blossom trees and had it in my head that I ought try and get a family portrait now that we have our new baby but not with a single tree but LOTS of blossom trees.

Winter Garden

Winter coming into spring is the prettiest time in my garden. The garden is usually overgrown or looking forgotten (because I don’t garden) and then suddenly lots of random flowers start popping up out of nowhere. Daffodils, bluebells and many other flowers that I don’t know the names of, start shooting up amongst the violets that have taken over.

The Post Baby Update

So things have been a little crazy. Baby Marci arrived just over a month ago so we are still in the newborn bubble of eat-feed-sleep-repeat, so instead of organising all of my scheduled blog posts I have let things slide for the time being.

Baby Shower - An AFE Afternoon Tea

Visit the Goldfields Girl blog for more life and style inspiration

I had the opportunity to style a baby shower at my house a little while ago. My Aunt had wanted to have a small gathering as she will be away when I am due and is likely to miss the birth of baby number two.

Maternity Clothing - A Review!

Visit the Goldfields Girl blog for more maternity style tips

Recently I was online and one of the clothing brands I follow asked for feedback on their maternity range. I ended up bombarding them with my feedback, which as my sister pointed out actually came across a little aggressive, oops! I just didn’t realize how passionate I was about it all until I was offered a soapbox. So after my feedback I thought I would put it all together in a little post and see if some of you agree or even have anything else to add!

Lazy Days and Boyfriend Jeans

It has been a little chaotic in our household the last couple of weeks. I’ve had a cold that I’ve been unable to shake and Roo has been sick as well.

5 Ways I've Learned to Approach Motherhood

As I enter my third trimester I have been reflecting on my approach to motherhood and the things I have learned or used as a guide during the last two years. They are certainly not rules, as admittedly I am not always consistent with following them but they have definitely helped me on my journey.

An update on my home interior!

Visit the Goldfields Girl blog for more maternity style

This week we had some new rugs arrive for our floors. It has been the most exciting thing to happen at our house in quite a while. Although we have lived here for two years, the last work we did on the house was the kitchen, which was when Roo was born.

The Caped Crusader

Visit the Goldfields Girl blog for more fashion and style

Last week I went to a midnight screening of Wonder Woman. To be able to attend I was required to nap as soon as I got home from work and the Captain dutifully woke me up half an hour before I needed to leave.

Autumn & Thanksgiving

Visit the Goldfields Girl blog for more maternity style

Last year the Captain, Roo, Mum and I travelled to California for a holiday. It was autumn in the US and very beautiful everywhere we went. Even though it was close to Halloween, there seemed to be more focus on the celebration of autumn and thanksgiving than Halloween.

Lunch with Luv-a-Duck

Today I had the pleasure of having lunch at Craig’s Royal Hotel thanks to an invite from the lovely team at Luv-a-Duck in conjunction with 3AW radio. The lunch was promoting ‘Luv-a-Duck month’ and featured beautifully cooked duck expertly prepared by Craig’s head chef Shannon Easton along with renowned chef Ian Curley

Goodbye Vegas and Rose

Recently one of the cafes that I frequent closed. I was sad because the café is a short walk from my house, offered my favourite chai tea, the yummiest rose water donuts and the loveliest service from Pen, the owner.

Night at Twelve Errard

Last weekend my sister Finding Femme invited Olivia (from Lyn & I) as well as myself to stay at Twelve Errard, a local apartment available for short stays. I was excited about the fact that I was getting some time away with the girls without even having to travel far away.

Lakeside Pop-Up Dinner

A few weeks ago my sister, Finding Femme, and I did a pop-up dinner on the lake. My sister ordered take away bagels, whilst our friend Liv (from Lyn & I) brought the Sticky Date Pudding. Each guest was instructed to bring a few items in the back of their car eg, some chairs, candles, food or some drinks.

Ballarat Beat Rockabilly Festival 2017

Goldfields Girl at Ballarat Beat Rockabilly Festival. Visit the Goldfields Girl blog for more fashion and lifestyle inspiration

I can’t believe it has been so long since I have been regularly publishing blog posts. With Christmas, holidays and then my return to work, time just seems to have disappeared. It wasn’t until recently that I considered my extended absence after a significant number of people asked me when I planned to do another post, especially as I have attended a number of events in the last couple of months and people commented that they were surprised that I had not posted about them.

Settler and Sons - Long Table Dinner

Last year I was scrolling through Instagram and came across pictures of a beautiful dinner party.
